Whew! straight down a long LONG hill, after dancing with a few cows along the way – they can get quite nasty if they have a calf close by – but it was worth it. The bay was beautiful. No dolphins this time round … but next time, hopefully. What a gorgeous way to spend an early summer afternoon. That’s me on the far right, and that’s the rest of our wwoofer contingent – wwoof: Willing Workers on Organic Farms – we have lots of ag farm students staying with us at the moment! Great fun! And you’ll be pleased to know I didn’t need to be airlifted out – though my knees did!

Haleakala Summit

Just took a trip up to Haleakala’s summit. You forget how BIG the crater is – it just seems to go on forever. Cold though – glad we brought sweaters!

Absolutely! Crystal clear skies, NO rain … I’m running around with sprinklers as Nature seems to have forgotten our 150″ of rain per year rule … gorgeous sunsets … and warm, warm, warm … floating around in the pool … LOVE September on the north shore!!!

Pool was 83 degrees yesterday … summer’s a’coming … chickens are giving us fabulous organic eggs … just planted 6 different varieties of cherry tomatoes in the herb garden … LOVE this time of the year in Huelo!

And now the blue skies are back!

Wet, wild & windy this week and goodbye to the whales …

It’s been a wild and windy week in Huelo … I think we’ve been spoiled for the last few months of blue (officially our “wet” season) … so nature is now catching up with us!!! But on the up side, 20 minutes down the road we’re finding our patches of blue, as usual … and Kai, (now fourteen, would you believe) has been catching some GREAT boogie boarding waves in Paia Bay!
